Autumn In New York...... I live in upstate NY....well, not as upstate as say, Saranac Lake or Watertown...I'm even south of Syracuse....I guess it's more generally known as the Southern Tier ... in the Finger Lakes. I live just about on Cayuga Lake...the longest of the Finger Lakes. I'm from southern NJ, and it's sea level. Period. I thought when I first came up here that Ithaca was in a mountainous area....and I was a bit fearful....not liking heights. But umm...lthaca has hills....granted, some kinda steep...and some of them you have to drive....but I have gotten used to it...and don't have too many qualms about it anymore. When autumn arrives, and you drive some of the off roads, or even some main roads...you see the gorgeous colors of the trees....dotting the hills with oranges, reds, and ye llows...simply magnificent.

I was recently told of a woman who committed suicide...I only had one conversation with her... we both frequented the same cafe. I believe she was about my age...late 50's, early 60's...and I really felt so sad....my first thought was...how do you leave behind those you love?...or who love you? Even if you only have a pet for family, how could you possibly walk away and not care what would happen ...how could you be so selfish? But I know nothing of her circumstances....whether she had financial problems, or a broken heart, or had lost someone and was in deep grief without them. I only wish something or someone could have meant enough to her so that she would have found reason to live.......

Coming back to bloggerland.....sometimes you stop doing something you had a grea t intention of continuing with....and then life steers you off the path, somewhat. I'm not blogging anything of great wisdom or enlightenment...maybe just for myself. But I think observation and recording is something that enriches, maybe only yourself....but I, for one, have been inspired by others observing and recording. Having said that.....it's time for me to start observing and recording...again.
